3M is an international manufacturing corporation comprising more than thirty business lines in electronics, energy, healthcare, safety, industry, etc. In Volokolamsk, the company operates the largest plant in Russia and the CIS producing respiratory personal protective equipment and innovative polishing compounds.

As part of the audit of 3M in the areas of environmental protection, occupational health and safety, and process and fire safety, Branan Environment consultants carried out the following activities:

• Conducting an audit and preparing the corresponding report;
• Assessing the company’s compliance with current Russian legislation and regulatory requirements applicable to its activities in the field of environmental and social protection, as well as with international standards in environmental protection, occupational health and safety;
• Preparing an environmental and social action plan, including a timeline and cost estimates.

The audit included:

• Interaction with company specialists during discussions and interviews;
• Review and analysis of Company documentation;
• Inspection of the Company’s production facilities;
• Photographic documentation of audited sites/facilities;
• Preparation of the audit report and development of recommendations based on the audit results.
