Within the framework of work on the package of documents for environmental and social impact assessment of the project for construction of peaking and standby power sources at the Branch “CHP-5” of RUE “Minskenergo” and at Berezovskaya GRES, consultants of Branan Environment conducted training sessions in the Brest Region and in Minsk (Republic of Belarus).
Within the framework of the project, E&SIA materials were developed in accordance with international standards, framework management plans for environmental and social issues, stakeholder engagement plans, and grievance and complaint handling mechanisms for two facilities. The training was devoted to a general overview of international standards on environmental and social issues (primarily the IFC and EBRD standards). The mechanism for developing and updating the system of plans and their subsequent implementation and execution at enterprises was considered in more detail. Interactive methods were used during the training, including case studies and dividing trainees into groups for a business game. The prepared presentation materials and additional information upon request were provided to the training participants upon completion of the courses.
