More than 10 enterprises in Russia, Armenia and Kazakhstan were pre-certified for international soft drinks and tobacco companies under an agreement with LDC for subsequent international voluntary certification on sustainable water use by AWS (Alliance for Water Stewardship).

The assessment covered both all aspects of water treatment and disposal, not only in factories, but also the basin aspect, taking into account the formation of the water balance and the participation of stakeholders in the use of water resources.

For one plant, the water balance of the catchment area was estimated, which was further detailed taking into account the climate change trend. For beverage companies in Russia and Armenia with a five-year lag, two cycles of water use assessment were carried out in accordance with internal standards, and for two plants in Belarus, this assessment was performed once.
