Background engineering and environmental surveys of the license area in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District

Branan Environment specialists conducted a series of environmental engineering surveys to study the background state of 1A license area of the Urengoy oil and gas field.

 

The works included:

  • Development of a detailed program of environmental assessment of the area, including the selection of sampling points and required chemical analysis of soil and natural water samples and other necessary studies;
  • Assessment of the general state of the environment in the study area focused on contamination of soil and water bodies and migration routes of potential contaminants;
  • Testing of potential contamination sites to identify existing and potential risks associated with past and present activities in the region and the extent of potential liability for past contamination;
  • Laboratory tests of soil and natural water samples;
  • Preparation of a detailed report containing a description of the research methodology, sampling and analysis methods, analysis results, main conclusions, diagrams and graphs.
