project
For four years, consultants from our company carried out regular monitoring of the construction and operation of a lead-zinc mine and processing plant in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the EBRD.
This monitoring was conducted by our consultants in the capacity of an independent environmental and social consultant to the Bank. Within the scope of the monitoring, issues of environmental protection, occupational health and safety, process safety, and social aspects were addressed, including stakeholder engagement and labor relations.
The monitoring also included a detailed review of environmental, occupational health and safety, process safety, and social issues’ management. As part of the work, various management plans were analyzed, and recommendations were provided to bring them in line with international requirements.
Monitoring was conducted twice a year, both through site visits to the project area and online. Detailed reports were prepared based on the results. Taking the findings into account, the action plan for achieving compliance with EBRD standards and the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan (ESAP) was updated.
