For Renault-Nissan Corporation, under a contract with Antea, work was carried out to study soil and groundwater contamination at the main production sites and infrastructure facilities in Tolyatti and Izhevsk. The work included testing more than 100 existing monitoring wells and drilling about 500 monitoring and exploration wells. Drilling was performed by local subcontractors. The total number of samples taken exceeded 1,000. Prior to the start of drilling and sampling, sampling points were selected and placed in situ. Their location was approved by all plant units with the issuing of drilling permits, and at the end of sampling, the permits were closed in accordance with the established procedure.
